Raw Data and Descriptive Data Assignment (#5)
For this assignment, you will need to turn in (electronic version)the following. Please label each worksheet within the Excel fileboth on the tab at the bottom and in the top left cell of theworksheet. The target due date for Assignment #5 is Monday, March20th.
1. In the first worksheet of the Excel file, place the master rawdata spreadsheet for your project. This spreadsheet should containall raw data, including rows for participants who might be omittedfrom the analysis (due to incomplete data, etc.). Participants to beomitted must have a column item indicating their reason for omission, and all such rows of participants may be grouped at the bottom of thespreadsheet, or placed on a separate worksheet within the same Excelfile.
If you created a set of questions to measure your DV, there shouldbe column for all of your raw DV measures, in addition to the averagescores*. If you are using a pre-existing survey / questionnaire thathas a scoring procedure already established, then you may simplyenter the final score on that survey for each participant.
2. * If you created a set of questions to measure your DV, on aseparate worksheet in the Excel file, you should show the results ofthe Crobach's alpha test. Type in the summary values (keep theprinted version with the analysis details for yourself), and typeyour conclusion (which questions to keep in the DV measure and why). Back in your main raw data spreadsheet, you should have a column thatreflects the combined score (total or average) of the questions youdecided to keep / use for your DV measure. That will be the columnused for the group / condition descriptive statistics and for theanalytical statistics.
3. On a separate sheet in the Excel file, summarize the followingparticipant descriptive data:
4. On a separate sheet in the Excel file, summarize the followinggroup / condition descriptive data (using the DV values). Make surethat each group/condition is clearly labeled.
5. On a separate sheet in the Excel file, show the correlationvalues between the DV and any demographic or other measured variablesyou included. Clearly label each correlation and indicate whether ornot it was a significant correlation. If it is significant, you willprobably want to include it as a covariate in your analyticalanalyses.
Analytical Data and Graphs Assignment (#6)
For this assignment, you will need to turn in a printed orelectronic version of the following. The target due date forAssignment #6 is Friday, March 24th.
1. Submit a clearly labeled summary table for each of youranalytical analyses. Next to each analysis, write out yourconclusion (whether the tested effect is or is not significant). When appropriate, conduct and report post-hoc analyses.
2. Check your means obtained during the analysis with those youcalculated prior to the analysis. Based on the results, indicatewhich specific means are significantly different from each other.
3. For each possible interaction, graph the results using agraphing program. Make sure each axis and line/bar has clear labels. (If you are not doing an ANOVA, then show the appropriate plot, e.g.scatterplot, etc.)
